Joined Rayleigh Rockets in 1968 and after only
one year was named skipper. The fans nickname for him was Captain
Scarlet !
He won the Teeside Open in 1970 and came runner-up
in the 1972 London Riders Championship to Ronnie Moore after beating
Barry Thomas in a run-off.
